New Subject Gateways are coming!

The library’s Subject Gateways are a great tool to use when you need to find library resources for a particular subject.  This summer, these useful guides to our resources are getting a makeover.  The revamped gateways allow more customization, so librarians can add the resources that will be most useful to you.  They will also include links to some of our help guides (e.g. our ever-popular Citation Style Guides), RSS feeds and other Web 2.0 tools, and even an IM chat box for getting help from a librarian directly from the Subject Gateway!

We hope the new gateways will be even more useful than they’ve been in the past.

Librarians are currently working on constructing the new Subject Gateways.  There will be a guide for each Hegis Code at Towson University (a hegis code is that four-letter abbreviation before your course number – COSC, ENGL, BIOL, etc.).  This expands the number of Subject Gateways from the approximately 70 we currently have to over 100!

You can preview some of the finished Subject Gateways at the following URL: http://cooklibrary.towson.edu/gateways/page.cfm?type=subject.

Look for the new Subject Gateways, coming this Fall!
