Cook Library Book Club: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
Thursday, April 19, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Albert S. Cook Library Towson Room (CK507)

The meeting begins with Laurencia Hutton Rogers, Clinical Assistant Professor of Health Science providing background on Rebecca Sklott’s The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, the remarkable story of the woman whose cells were taken without her knowledge to become the basis for the polio vaccine. Then First Year Experience Librarian Carissa Tomlinson will lead attendees in a discussion about the book. Copies of the book are available for purchase at the University Store.

Light refreshments will be served.
