Holocaust Rememberance Day
White Gloves Session

Monday, April 28, 2014
12:00pm to 1:00pm
College of Liberal Arts, Outside Reading Room (CLA4200)

University Archivist & Digital Collections Librarian Nadia Nasr and Jewish Studies Librarian Elaine Mael will conduct a White Gloves Session whereby they take the Jewish Cultural Reconstruction books from the library’s collection (these are books that were seized by the Nazis during World War II and then redistributed to Jewish cultural institutions such as Baltimore Hebrew University after the war) out into the community. During these sessions, Ms. Nasr and Ms. Mael give a brief overview of the collection’s history, discuss the significance of some related photographs, and give participants the opportunity to don a pair of white archival gloves so they can more closely examine the books for themselves and ask questions.
