Cook Library is hosting five programs as part of Money Smart Week, a national initiative to promote financial literacy:

Credit: Tools for Managing Finances
Monday, April 20
3:30-4:30pm

Randi Gosselin, Certified Credit Counselor and Student Loan Counselor of Navicore Solutions, will go over what every student should know about: Budgeting, Dealing with Debt, Money Management, and Budgeting for Life after Graduation. Participants will have the opportunity to pull their own credit report. Sponsored by the Maryland Cash Campaign.

TU Entrepreneurship Presents: From Problem to Profit
Tuesday, April 21
3:30-4:30pm

Learn how to turn a problem into profit during this 60-minute session. A panel of entrepreneurs at varying stages will discuss the ideation process, how to recognize problems around you, how to start a business, and what it takes to grow and sustain a startup while turning a profit!  You’ll hear from local TU student entrepreneurs’ experiences and real world professionals from the TU Incubator. After this session, you’ll have a better understanding of what entrepreneurship at Towson means, as well as gain access to some go-to resources at your fingertips. TUIG Presents: Personal Finance According to the Pros

Join Graham Ewing, CFP (TU ‘12, former TUIG president), Molly Burton (TU ‘13, former TUIG Vice President), and Joelle Gotimer of the Financial Consultate for a discussion of all things personal finance.  The importance of personal finance at even the most basic levels will be stressed. Credit and Money Management: Today and Tomorrow

Mark Kopatch, Programs Manager of Eastside CDC, Inc. will discuss methods to establish and maintain good credit, opportunities and pitfalls of debt, and budgeting and saving techniques. Mark will also share information on helpful websites and how to participate in free Financial Fitness and Coaching programs and First Time Homebuyers programs after college to assist in major life choices. TUIG Presents: Discussion of Warren Buffet’s Letters to Shareholders
Thursday, April 23

Warren Buffet, arguably the greatest investor of all time, is famous for his yearly letters to shareholders, which contain insight into Buffet’s investment thinking. Join Towson University Investment Group as we analyze and discuss Buffet’s letters from 2009, 2013 and 2014 [visit: http://www.berkshirehathaway.com/letters/letters.html%5D.
