Writer, educator, and Baltimore-native Angel King Wilson will speak about living with lead poisoning, being part of a community where children continue to be lead poisoned in their schools and homes, and the connections between lead poisoning and poverty. This event is part of our One Maryland, One Book series related to Mona Hanna-Attisha’s What the Eyes Don’t See. This event will draw a connection between the ongoing water crisis in Flint and the problem of lead poisoning in our own Baltimore City, highlighting the role environmental racism plays in both crises.
